SMA Crossover Trend

We review here the impact of traditional gold cross and death cross sma signals on a variety of assets daily time series. For each asset, we show the strategy implemented either as follow:

• long only (no position between death cross signal and golden cross signal)
• short only (no position between golden cross and death cross)
• sma trend (always take long or short position, trusting both long and short signal))

Note that there is no stoploss order here. Stop loss orders cap the loss but may introduce dependence on the stop loss level, whereas the strategy without stop loss focuses on the predictive value of the signal from one signal date to another.
